கொன்றை அல்லது சரக்கொன்றை [ Cassia fistula, golden rain tree]

இது ஒரு கொடி வகை தாவரம் .இது இயல்பாக எங்களது விவசாய நிலத்தில் வளர்ந்துள்ளளது .இதன் பூவிற்க்கு ஏகப்பட்ட தேனீக்களும் ,பட்டாம்பூச்சியும் மொய்த்து கொண்டிருக்கும்,அயல் மகரந்த சேர்க்கைக்கும் ,பல்லுயிர் பெருக்கத்திற்கும் இது ஒரு அற்புத தாவரம்.

the flowers on this lovely morning glory are small (about 1" across), the color is so unusual and lovely it really makes it worth adding to your garden. Beautiful pale yellow flowers with deep purple throats adorn this vigorous vine with small, heart shaped leaves. As with most morning glories, it loves full sun and average, well drained soil. It's takes a while for the blooms to start on this lovely vine, which climbs upto 6-10 ft. Beautiful heart-shaped leaves are 3-9 cm long. Flowering: August-March.

Viluthi I[Cadaba Indica]

                                                                   

is a climbing shrub, height up to 5 m. Oval leaves with rounded tip are arranged alternately on the branches. Flowers usually in terminal racemes, or axillary solitary. Petals 4, clawed. Disk-appendix about as long as the petal claw, tubular, often trumpet shaped, apex generally petaloid and more or less toothed. Stamens 4-6, exserted, spreading; filaments on a short androphore or irregularly fused with the gynophore. Fruit is nearly cylindrical, leathery - internal tissues surrounding the nearly round seeds are often orange coloured. Flowering: January-March. It is threatened by habitat loss

Medicinal uses:  farinosa are widely used as an anti-inflammatory agent and for the treatment of colic, conjunctivitis, stomach ache and snake bite. Leaves are considered to be purgative, anti-syphilitic, anthelmintic and anti-phlogistic and employed in the preparation of medicated oils.

A spiny evergreen shrub with leaves simple, opposite with successive pairs at right angles to each other, elliptic-oblong to almost round ,leathery fruits are round small, yellow to white when ripe.
Medicinal uses: Its used in bronchitis, cough, asthama, diabetes etc.it is used in Ayurveda, folk &Sidha ,A cough medicine can be prepared from this plant.
