Nari kandam or River Mangrove[Aegiceras corniculatum]

                                                 
This is one of the most common mangrove plants.These plants often grow up to 4mt tall.The leaves are oval about 7cm long .The flowers are small ,white arranged and smell like bananas.The end of the fruit that is attached to the tree and has a spiral patterned cap .The fruits are green ,ripening to the red in summer.its found in river banks over a wide range of salinity.This mangrove hails from india.
Medicinal usages:to treat Blood Cancer and leukaemia.
